About The Position

The Assistant Professor - Otolaryngology is responsible for providing direct patient care in otorhinolaryngology, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients. This role involves active participation in all departmental teaching activities, such as conferences, lectures, bedside teaching, and rounds. The position includes supervising house staff in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient services, as well as engaging in continuing medical education and attending local, regional, and national meetings. The target audience for teaching includes medical students, house staff, nursing students, and allied health students. Additionally, the individual will contribute to advancing clinical knowledge through scholarly and research efforts, participating in either basic (laboratory) or clinical research, and publishing scientific articles. Administrative duties include supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and serving on departmental and health system committees. The position will be deployed across clinics in Galveston, Texas City, TDC, and League City, with surgical procedures performed at Jennie Sealy.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME approved residency training program in otolaryngology.
  • Certified/Board Eligible in Otolaryngology.
  • Eligible for or possess a Texas Medical License without restrictions.

Responsibilities
