About The Position

The Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry (CBMC) in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in AI-Driven Drug Discovery. We are seeking candidates whose research experience integrates Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) with Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology, and/or Computational Chemistry, with an emphasis on ML/AI approaches. The ideal candidates will possess the potential to establish an innovative, competitive, and independent research program. Candidates are expected to contribute to the education and training of students in the Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PhD) graduate program, the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) professional program, and postdoctoral fellows in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.

Requirements

  • Research experience integrating Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) with Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology, and/or Computational Chemistry, with an emphasis on ML/AI approaches.
  • Potential to establish an innovative, competitive, and independent research program.
  • Expertise in Computational Modeling, AI Drug Discovery and Medicinal Chemistry.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong track record of publications that demonstrate innovation and an interest in AI Drug Discovery, including designing, synthesizing, and/or applying novel molecular therapeutics to disease states.
  • Established competitive and independent research program, or clear potential to establish one.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the education and training of students in the Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PhD) graduate program.
  • Contribute to the education and training of students in the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) professional program.
  • Contribute to the education and training of postdoctoral fellows in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
