Assistant Professor of Sport Administration (AY 27-28)
About The Position
The Communication Division of the Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at Pepperdine University is seeking a Tenure-Track faculty member in Sport Administration to begin August 1, 2027. The position requires a Ph.D. in Sport Management, Sport Administration, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution by the appointment date. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Sport Administration, such as Sport Event and Facility Management, Sport Finance, and Sport Analytics, blending theory with practice to prepare students for the sport industry. The role emphasizes using real-world examples, case studies, and innovative learning experiences. The candidate will also mentor and advise undergraduate students, potentially assist with the Sport Administration student association, curriculum assessment and design, and oversee student internships. A strong commitment to developing sport industry opportunities for students is highly valued. Pepperdine's Seaver College is a residential liberal arts college with approximately 3,500 students in Malibu, California. Requirements
- Completed Ph.D. in Sport Management, Sport Administration, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education by August 1, 2027.
- Documented teaching experience.
- Research interest in the area of Sport Administration.
- Ability to show respect for workplace differences.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.
- Active commitment to the Christian mission of the University.
- Willingness to support the mission of Seaver College.

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Sport Administration, including Sport Event and Facility Management, Sport Finance, Sport Analytics, and other required courses.
- Blend theory with practice in courses to prepare students for sport industry professions.
- Utilize real-world examples, timely case studies, and innovative learning experiences.
- Mentor and advise undergraduate Sport Administration students academically and professionally.
- Assist in advising the Sport Administration student association.
- Assist with curriculum assessment and design.
- Oversee the curriculum component of student internships.
- Develop sport industry opportunities for students inside and outside of the classroom.
