About The Position

The Department of Accounting and Information Systems in the R. B. Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position. Faculty hired for this position will be responsible for teaching 24 credit hours per year, further building the curriculum, and working closely with the business community. We seek candidates with expertise in taxation, who will contribute to the department’s mission through teaching, collaboration, and service. Professors of Practice are expected to engage with industry professionals and remain active in their profession in ways that contribute to their university assignments. Responsibilities include: • Teach and develop undergraduate and/or graduate courses within the Department of Accounting and Information Systems curriculum. • Provide academic leadership and mentorship within the department. • Contribute to departmental, college, and university service and governance. • Support the strategic growth and visibility of the department’s academic programs and initiatives. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in accounting or relevant field, or a Master's degree in accounting and professional licensure in an accounting related field (e.g., CPA, or other professional accounting certification) with equivalent years of accounting-related work experience at the time of application.
  • This position will primarily be responsible for teaching courses in taxation.
  • Significant teaching and/or professional experience in taxation is required.
