The Assistant Professor of Practice (Professional Track Faculty) of Criminal Justice with Emphasis in Law Enforcement Leadership (BSCJ-CJUS) is a twelve-month, full-time, renewable, non-tenure track faculty position within the College of Innovation and Design at East Texas A&M University. Professional Track Faculty provide high-quality instruction in their assigned academic discipline through innovative, student-centered teaching practices that support adult learners and prepare graduates for success in an evolving workforce. Professional Track Faculty within the College of Innovation and Design are teacher-scholars of practice whose primary responsibility is teaching excellence, supported by leadership within the faculty community, engagement with their profession, and meaningful contributions to the College and University. Faculty integrate disciplinary expertise, instructional innovation, curriculum leadership, and professional experience to create engaging learning experiences while maintaining strong connections between academic programs and workforce needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, provide leadership in curriculum development and continuous improvement, collaborate with colleagues to promote student success, maintain active engagement within their profession, and contribute to the mission and strategic priorities of the College and University. This position is primarily remote. Occasional travel to East Texas A&M University campuses and other locations for university meetings, commencement ceremonies, professional engagement activities, partnership development, recruitment opportunities, and other college initiatives may be required. The university will not reimburse mileage or travel time for these required meetings.
