About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Endocrinology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Department of Pediatrics is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Endocrinologist for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice position. This role is primarily clinical and aims to support the growth of outpatient endocrinology services by managing increasing referral volumes, improving patient access, and delivering high-quality endocrine care to a growing pediatric population. The Section of Endocrinology is recognized nationally for its excellence in patient care, education, and academic achievement, serving a broad regional referral population. The CU School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Section of Endocrinology is consistently ranked among the top 10 Pediatric Endocrinology Programs in the US. The section's vision is to cultivate endocrine knowledge today to create the care of tomorrow, guiding efforts in patient care, research, education, and advocacy. Faculty members are expected to be committed to advancing this vision. Patient care is provided in a quaternary Children's Hospital serving a 7-state region, with an active inpatient consult service. The section is involved in over 10 multidisciplinary clinics, offering collaborative, state-of-the-art care. Inpatient consultations are provided at the Anschutz Medical Campus, while outpatient care for pediatric endocrine disorders is delivered across the Denver metro area within the Children’s Hospital Colorado Network of Care (NOC). Regional outreach clinics extend the section's reach. The Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes manages care for children with type 1 diabetes. The Section of Pediatric Endocrinology has an established Pediatric Endocrine Fellowship, offering opportunities to work with fellows. The section also provides education in Pediatric Endocrinology for medical students, residents, fellows, and allied health learners at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Colorado and credentialing at Children's Hospital Colorado.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric endocrinology services.
  • Maintain approximately seven half-day clinics weekly.
  • Evaluate and manage pediatric endocrine conditions including thyroid disorders, growth disorders, adrenal disease, bone and mineral disorders, pituitary disorders, and disorders of puberty.
  • Participate in inpatient endocrine consultation services and shared call coverage.
  • Teach medical students, residents, fellows, and allied health learners.
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical research, and scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary programs and institutional committees.
  • Support efforts to improve patient access and clinical outcomes.
