About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Endocrinology at the University of Colorado Anschutz has an opening for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice position. The Section is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Pediatric Endocrinologist to provide comprehensive subspecialty care and support continued growth in outpatient endocrinology services. This position is primarily clinical and is intended to support increasing referral volumes, improve patient access, and provide timely, high-quality endocrine care to a growing pediatric population. The Section of Endocrinology is nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, education, and academic achievement and serves a growing regional referral population. The CU School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics Section of Endocrinology is consistently recognized for excellence in patient care, research and education, ranking in the top 10 of Pediatric Endocrinology Programs for over 10 years in the USWNT ranking. The vision for the Section is to cultivate endocrine knowledge today, to create the care of tomorrow. This vision guides complementary efforts in patient care, research, education and advocacy. The section seeks a faculty member committed to advancing this vision. The section provides patient care in a quaternary Children's Hospital serving a 7-state region, with an active consult service. The section participates in over 10 multidisciplinary clinics, providing state-of-the-art, collaborative care to patients across the region. Inpatient consult service is provided at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Outpatient care for pediatric patients with endocrine disorders occurs in clinical sites across the Denver metro area in the Children’s Hospital Colorado Network of Care (NOC). Regional outreach clinics expand the reach of the Pediatric Endocrine Section. Care for children with type 1 diabetes is managed by the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes. The Section of Pediatric Endocrinology has a well-established Pediatric Endocrine Fellowship, allowing for opportunities to work with motivated Pediatric Endocrine Fellows. The section provides education in Pediatric Endocrinology for Pediatric Residents, medical students, CHA-PA students and NP students at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Colorado and credentialing at Children's Hospital Colorado.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric endocrinology services.
  • Maintain approximately seven half-day clinics weekly.
  • Evaluate and manage pediatric endocrine conditions including thyroid disorders, growth disorders, adrenal disease, bone and mineral disorders, pituitary disorders, and disorders of puberty.
  • Participate in inpatient endocrine consultation services and shared call coverage.
  • Teach medical students, residents, fellows, and allied health learners.
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical research, and scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary programs and institutional committees.
  • Support efforts to improve patient access and clinical outcomes.
