About The Position

The Department of Philosophy at Davidson College invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Philosophy to begin July 1, 2027. The area of specialization is any area within value theory, broadly construed. The area of competence is open, with some preference for candidates who complement teaching strengths of the department. We seek candidates who are highly committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and scholarly research. A willingness and ability to contribute to interdisciplinary programs such as Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE), Writing 101, or the Humanities Program are desirable. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in philosophy before the start of the appointment. Davidson is a highly selective, nationally ranked, residential liberal arts college located in Davidson, North Carolina, near Charlotte.
