About The Position

Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Nursing. This position involves teaching, advising, scholarship, and service within the nursing programs. The faculty member will be responsible for delivering classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction. The role also includes available teaching in an adjunct capacity in the RN-BSN program as needed. This is a 9-month academic year position.

Requirements

Master’s degree in nursing
Two years clinical experience as registered nurse
Active Louisiana RN license or Multi-State License
CPR certified with documented health compliance as required of nursing faculty

Nice To Haves

Obtain Certified Nurse Educator credential within 3 years of hire

Responsibilities

Teaching in ASN Program (Primary) or RN-BSN program (Shared faculty)
Incorporate student learning teaching/learning strategies in classroom and lab/clinical instruction.
Participate in Department of Nursing and University Committees.
Ensure student compliance with health requirements.
Participate in student counseling and advising.
Schedule office hours in compliance with University Policy.
Evaluate student performance in classroom and clinical courses.
Develop course schedules and syllabi in compliance with department and University policies.
Exhibits a strong commitment to nursing student success and to LSUA
Demonstrates excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to work independently.
Follows faculty policies and guidelines in compliance with University and School of Nursing Policy
