About The Position

DePauw University is seeking a part-time Assistant Professor of Music (Dance) to begin in August 2026. The position requires a terminal degree in dance or a related field by August 2026, and a commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting with evidence of effective and inclusive teaching. The successful candidate will teach courses in dance technique, specifically beginning ballet, beginning jazz dance, and beginning tap dance. The teaching assignment is a maximum of four partial-credit courses per year. Requirements

• Terminal degree (completed by August 2026) in dance or related field.
• Commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting.
• Evidence of effective and inclusive teaching.
• Ability to foster and engage with a diversity of ideas and experiences to create an inclusive environment in the classroom and at the University.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in dance technique, specifically beginning ballet, beginning jazz dance, and beginning tap dance.
