About The Position

The Institute of Music at DePauw University invites applications for a part-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2026. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential. The Institute of Music specifically seeks candidates to teach Elementary General Music: Methods, Materials, and Curricula in the fall as well as Senior Seminar for Music Educators and observation of student teachers in the spring. Requirements

• Master’s degree in music education
• Public school teaching experience
• Commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting
• Evidence of effective and inclusive teaching

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. (completed by August 2026) in music education
• ABD candidates will be considered at the rank of Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Music: Methods, Materials, and Curricula in the fall.
• Teach Senior Seminar for Music Educators in the spring.
• Observe student teachers in the spring.
