About The Position
The University of Alabama School of Law seeks qualified applicants for the position of Professor of Legal Writing at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the growth, development, and improvement of the legal writing program. This is a 9-month position on a contract basis with an initial three-year term, which is presumptively renewable after the initial renewal. The Legal Writing professor will teach two sections in the first-year program and will also develop an upper-level writing or drafting course and teach that course twice during the three-year contract.
Requirements
- Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Strong academic record.
- Demonstrated effective legal writing skills.
- Admitted to and in good standing with a state bar.

- Significant teaching experience.
- Significant practice experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach two sections in the first-year legal writing program.
