The University of Alabama School of Law seeks qualified applicants for the position of Professor of Legal Writing at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on qualifications. This solicitation is for candidates applying at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to the growth, development, and improvement of the legal writing program. The duties of a Legal Writing professor include teaching two sections in the first-year legal writing program and developing an upper-level writing or drafting course. This is a 9-month position and does not include the possibility of tenure. The position will be on a contract basis with an initial three-year term. After initial renewal, subsequent three-year terms will be presumptively renewable. The Legal Writing professor will teach two sections in the first-year program and will also develop an upper-level writing or drafting course and teach that course twice during the three-year contract.
