About The Position

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington, College of Engineering, is seeking an Open Rank- APT faculty member for a position in Computer Science and Engineering. This role can be appointed at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, or Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Instruction, depending on qualifications. The primary responsibility will be teaching courses within the undergraduate and graduate Computer Engineering curriculum. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in areas such as electric circuits, electronics, digital logic design, signal processing, embedded systems, microprocessors, systems-on-chip, electromechanical systems, and real-time systems. The typical teaching load is 12 credits per semester. The department fosters a collaborative environment and offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Academic Professional Track faculty are integral to departmental life, collaborating with faculty and students on mentoring, advising senior design projects, and curriculum development.

Requirements

  • For assistant/associate/full professor of instruction: Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related area by the start date.
  • For lecturer/senior lecturer: M.S. degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related area by the start date.
  • Significant industry experience is encouraged.
  • Relevant industry experience is valued, particularly when it enhances teaching through real-world applications, project-based learning, or alignment with current industry practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching and/or training experience is preferred.
  • Industry work experience is considered an advantage.
  • Evidence of creative and effective pedagogy, such as course materials and assignments; peer, student, or statistical evaluations; or descriptions of novel approaches, tools, or systems that the applicant has developed to support their classes.
