About The Position

The Williams College of Business at Xavier University invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction position in the Department of Accountancy and Business Law beginning fall 2027. The Assistant Professor of Instruction position is renewable on a yearly basis, with the potential after six years for promotion to Associate Professor of Instruction with a rolling two-year renewable contract. The candidate must be committed to providing quality teaching and to maintaining an active and sustained connection to their field through professional engagement, scholarly activity, or a combination of the two. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear plan for continued professional and/or scholarly engagement that supports currency in their discipline, informs their teaching, and contributes to their ongoing faculty qualifications.

Requirements

• At least a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in accounting-related course work.
• Compelling evidence of teaching effectiveness.
• Relevant professional work experience.
• An established or developing record of professional engagement and/or scholarly activity.
• Ability to engage diverse groups of students in learning opportunities.

Nice To Haves

• Current professional certification (CPA or similar) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach in both undergraduate and master’s programs (MBA and/or MS in Accountancy) in live and on-line formats.
• Be able to teach both introductory courses, financial and managerial accounting, as well as an additional course in the major (e.g., Tax, Accounting Information Systems, Intermediate / Advanced Financial, Audit, etc.).
• Serve as a faculty advisor for Accounting Society, which provides students with opportunities for professional development and leadership.
• Service and participation in the life of the Department and University consistent with the mission of Jesuit higher education.
• Professional development activities on and off campus.
