Assistant Professor of Instruction - Psychology
About The Position
The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Psychology seeks applications for a three-year term Assistant Professor of Instruction in Developmental Psychology position, starting in August 2027. This position includes a 4/4 teaching load, service expectations, and the possibility of renewal. The position requires teaching multiple sections of an undergraduate course in Developmental Psychology. Specialization within developmental psychology is open, but preference will be given to candidates who could contribute coursework to the department’s applied tracks, particularly those in school psychology and student affairs. The Department of Psychology offers a B.A. degree centered on psychological science, with specialized applied tracks in mental health, behavioral health, work (I-O), military, school psychology, and student affairs.
Requirements
- M.A. in psychology or closely related field is required
- ABD applicants with strong evidence of degree completion by August 2027 will be considered
- Compelling record of effective teaching
- Demonstrated ability to teach Developmental Psychology
Nice To Haves
- Ph.D. is preferred
- Preference will be given to candidates who could contribute coursework to the department’s applied tracks, particularly those in school psychology and student affairs.
