About The Position

The Department of Economics at Washington and Lee University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics with teaching and research interests in macroeconomics. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching core macroeconomics courses, including Principles of Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Theory, and developing elective courses. This role is situated within a highly selective, private liberal arts college environment that emphasizes undergraduate education and scholarly research. The university offers robust support for faculty research, including sabbaticals, research leaves, summer salary support, travel stipends, and research assistants. The department also hosts a regular seminar series. The academic year is structured into two 13-week terms and a 4-week spring term. The standard teaching load is five courses per year, with new hires having a reduced 2-2-0 load in their first year as part of a comprehensive faculty development program. Requirements

• Ph.D. in Economics by the time of appointment.
