About The Position

The College of Liberal Arts at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is seeking to hire a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, starting in Fall 2027. The role involves teaching, research, and service expectations typical of a tenure-track position, with a course load of 3-3 per academic year. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses across the Criminal Justice curriculum, including classroom, hybrid, and online formats. While the area of specialization is open, candidates must be prepared to teach core Criminal Justice courses such as introductions to corrections, courts, law enforcement, criminal justice, criminology, and research methods. There is also a potential need to teach courses for the new Forensic Investigations program. Requirements

Doctoral degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related discipline from an accredited university. Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
Demonstrated evidence of an active research agenda that has the potential to result in published scholarly works or peer-reviewed products.
Ability to teach in a variety of formats to include classroom, hybrid, and online courses.
Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentoring.
Ability to teach in the core of the Criminal Justice program, including courses such as introductory classes in courts, corrections, and law enforcement as well as introduction to criminal justice, criminology, and research methods.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Prepare to teach courses as part of the newly established Forensic Investigations program, an interdisciplinary minor that includes coursework from criminal justice, biomedical sciences, and psychology.
