About The Position

The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at The University of Tampa invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in policing, beginning August 2027. The department seeks applicants whose research and teaching focus on policing and policing-related issues and who can teach courses in this area at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants must demonstrate excellent teaching, a clear and active research agenda, and evidence of scholarly productivity. A Ph.D. in Criminology or Criminal Justice (or closely related discipline) from an accredited institution is required at the time of appointment. The Department offers a B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice and an M.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Tenured and tenure-track faculty members teach a 3/3 course load. Upper-division courses are typically capped at 20 students. Faculty members also are expected to actively engage in research, provide service to the department, college, and university, as well as advise criminology and criminal justice majors. Requirements
