About The Position
California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Computer Information Systems. Cal Poly Pomona is a polytechnic university known for its learn-by-doing approach and Teacher Scholar Model. The university is located near Los Angeles and offers a diverse and inclusive environment. The Computer Information Systems (CIS) department is seeking a candidate to begin in Fall 2027. The department is nationally recognized for its undergraduate curriculum and faculty commitment to collegiality, collaboration, teaching, scholarship, and governance. The CIS department supports undergraduate majors and graduate programs in Information Security, Business Analytics, and MBA, and is involved with several student clubs and centers focused on technology and analytics.
Requirements
- Academic and/or industry experience in at least one area of Artificial Intelligence applications for business, such as Agentic AI, Large Language Models, Generative AI.
- Ph.D. in Information Systems or closely related discipline from an accredited university, AACSB preferred. A terminal degree must be earned by the start of the appointment.
- Demonstrated evidence of or commitment to research resulting in peer-reviewed journal publications. Candidates with doctorate conferred more than 5 years ago must have at least two peer reviewed journal articles within the past five years.
- Candidates with experience in higher education must show evidence of teaching excellence.
- A teaching philosophy statement.
