About The Position

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for an Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders to begin Fall 2027. TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas, a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250,000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery, teaching and learning, community engagement and public service, and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. This is a 9-month tenure-track position. Primary duties will include teaching assigned courses in Communication Sciences and Disorders program; evaluating students’ progress in coursework; completing the administrative aspects of assigned courses; supervising field-based students or student internship when needed; demonstrating scholarly productivity through publications in referred journals and attendance at professional conferences and meetings; and assisting in the development of a Master's program. Duties also include providing service to the department, college and university. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. The College of Nursing and Health Sciences prepares skilled professionals who promote health, wellness, and quality of life. Requirements

• Hold a doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field from a regionally accredited institution (ABDs will be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment)
• Demonstrate potential for teaching
• Demonstrate potential for peer-reviewed scholarship
• Demonstrate potential for external funding
• Demonstrate potential for supporting first-generation students
• Hold or be eligible for Texas SLP licensure and/or ASHA CCC-SLP certification
