About The Position

The assistant professor on the clinical educator track provides direct outpatient and inpatient care to patients with endocrine disorders at UHealth clinic locations, Jackson Memorial Hospital, and UHealth Towers. The position also involves teaching endocrinology fellows, residents, and medical students.

The role allocates 80% of effort to ambulatory attending physician services, 10% to inpatient attending services, and 10% to teaching. Inpatient responsibilities include evening, weekend, and holiday call proportionate to that of other physicians.

Requirements

• MD degree.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited U.S. Internal Medicine internship and residency.
• Completion of a three-year ACGME-accredited U.S. Endocrinology fellowship.
• Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, or board eligibility.
• Valid unrestricted Florida medical license, or eligibility to apply; licensure is required before credentialing.
• Valid DEA licensure.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification.
• Maintain continuing medical education (CME) to meet institutional and state licensing requirements.
• Excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe, quality care and meet institutional standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as attending physician for ambulatory services (80% of effort).
• Serve as attending physician for inpatient services (10% of effort), including evening, weekend, and holiday call proportionate to other physicians.
• Teach endocrinology fellows, residents, and medical students (10% of effort).
• Provide safe, quality patient care in accordance with institutional standards of care.
