About The Position

The Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine will be part of the Department of Emergency Medicine at OSU COM. The position is actively involved in leadership and teaching of Emergency Medicine students. Appropriate effort and activity in clinical research, service, and scholarly activity are also necessary, along with a clinical record of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The position works with existing Emergency Medicine faculty.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. in Emergency Medicine; the degree must be conferred on or before the agreed-upon start date.
Eligibility for licensure in the state of Oklahoma.
Board certification by the AOA or ABMS.
Appropriate staff privileges at OSU Medical Center, Northeastern Health System, Jack Montgomery VA Medical Center, Cleveland Area Hospital, and Claremore Indian Hospital.
Knowledge of all areas related to the clinical practice of Emergency Medicine.
Strong analytical, advanced multitasking, and advanced problem-solving skills.
Practice management experience and the ability to plan effectively.
Computer skills to operate electronic medical records.
Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with faculty, resident physicians, medical students, patients, and providers.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 20 pounds; stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions, with or without reasonable accommodations, to carry out the specific functions of an Emergency physician.
