The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSOM) is seeking exceptional candidates to join their faculty during a period of expansion. Requirements

  • Completion of a US-approved residency in Anesthesiology or equivalent training and certification.
  • Completion of a Fellowship in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Management or substantial experience in the area.
  • Board Eligibility or Certification in Anesthesiology (equivalence determined case-by-case).

Nice To Haves

  • Research experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Performing and supervising all commonly utilized peripheral and neuraxial nerve block techniques, including superficial and deep cervical plexus, interscalene, supraclavicular, infraclavicular, axillary, elbow, wrist, femoral nerve, adductor canal, fascia iliaca, sub gluteal sciatic nerve, lateral popliteal sciatic nerve, IPACK, TAP, rectus sheath, PEC1, PEC2, ESP, and stellate ganglion blocks, if indicated with catheter placement.
  • Managing acute pain patients and acute-on chronic pain patients in an inpatient setting.
  • Supervising residents and fellows.
  • Performing procedures independently when required.
  • Participating in the academic activities of the department, including teaching and mentoring trainees, and participating in departmental conferences and faculty meetings.
  • Participating in departmental conferences and faculty meetings.
