About The Position

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a tenure-track position in Analytical or Physical Chemistry. This is a full-time, nine-month, benefits-eligible position starting in August 2027, with a potential opportunity to begin in January 2027. The role involves teaching a full faculty load in Chemistry, building an undergraduate research program, and actively participating in service to the Department, College of EMS, and University. Teaching assignments will include general chemistries and upper-level courses in analytical and possibly physical chemistry. Supporting Chemistry Department initiatives and programs related to forensic science applications is also expected.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry (Analytical or Physical Chemistry preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach lecture and lab courses in general chemistry.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach upper-level courses in analytical chemistry.
  • Ability to establish an independent research program involving undergraduate students.
  • Ability to seek external funding for undergraduate research.
  • Ability to contribute to departmental initiatives related to forensic science applications.
  • Ability to assist with instrument maintenance.
  • Ability to perform academic advising.
  • Ability to perform committee service and other duties as assigned.
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate education and research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
