About The Position

Texas A&M University-Victoria seeks one full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry with a start date of August 2027. The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Texas A&M University-Victoria invites applications for a tenure-track position in Chemistry. We are seeking a chemist with a Ph.D. in inorganic, organic, or related areas of chemistry. Candidates with a confirmed Ph.D. completion date will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education and will contribute to a vibrant department that supports Biology majors and pre-health students. Teaching responsibilities include general inorganic and organic chemistry lectures and associated laboratories. The area of research specialization is open. Evidence of an active research agenda and the ability to publish in the field of expertise is expected.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in inorganic, organic, or related areas of chemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Teach twelve credit hours per semester of General Inorganic and Organic Chemistry courses and associated laboratories.
  • Direct student learning opportunities that might include undergraduate research or other applied student experiences.
  • Contribute to the distinctive general education curriculum and the broader academic life on campus.
  • Conduct research and scholarly activity.
  • Provide career advising.
  • Foster connections with community organizations.
  • Maintain a strong campus presence.
  • Support student recruitment and retention efforts.
