About The Position

The Department of Chemistry at Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in analytical chemistry to start in August 2027. The primary teaching duties will include courses in the department’s introductory sequence (General Chemistry, Methods of Chemical Analysis), plus a special topics course in the candidate’s area of expertise. The opportunity exists to participate in the university’s First Year Seminar program. The successful candidate is also expected to develop a research program in analytical or bioanalytical chemistry that has significant undergraduate student involvement.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry
  • College-level teaching experience and/or postdoctoral research experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrate strong evidence for the potential to provide excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must not require employer sponsorship for employment authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in chromatography (HPLC, LC/MS).
