About The Position

Stephens College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Business Administration to join a dynamic and growing program committed to experiential learning, industry engagement, and career-focused education. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in business and contribute to curriculum development in areas such as management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and hospitality management. Stephens College operates on an innovative block schedule, where students focus on one course at a time during intensive 3.5-week terms. This model encourages deep engagement and allows faculty to design courses that emphasize experiential learning, project-based assignments, and meaningful interaction with industry professionals. Stephens prepares students for leadership in business and industry by integrating hands-on learning experiences, applied projects, and partnerships with local and regional employers into the curriculum.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (DBA or PhD) in Business Administration or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate courses in business administration and marketing.
  • Evidence of effective teaching or professional training experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect business theory with real-world application.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience in hospitality management, tourism, or service industry leadership.
  • Experience teaching marketing, hospitality, or service operations courses.
  • Experience developing experiential or applied learning opportunities for students.
  • Experience building industry partnerships, internships, or student consulting projects.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the undergraduate business administration program, including introductory courses and courses in marketing, economics, entrepreneurship, hospitality management, and the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Design and deliver courses within Stephens College’s block schedule format, where faculty teach one course at a time in an intensive 3.5-week term.
  • Incorporate experiential learning approaches, including applied projects, case studies, simulations, and industry collaborations.
  • Connect course content with real-world business practices and emerging industry trends.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate business students.
  • Support student career development through internships, industry partnerships, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Encourage participation in professional organizations, competitions, and applied business projects.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of business curriculum.
  • Support expansion of course offerings in areas such as business, economics, marketing, hospitality management, and entrepreneurship.
  • Participate in program assessment and accreditation-related processes.
  • Serve on departmental and institutional committees.
  • Participate in student recruitment, admissions, and outreach activities.
  • Engage with community and industry partners to strengthen the business program.
