About The Position

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks multiple adjunct faculty to teach remotely in the Doctoral of Business Administration program. Specifically, the following course(s): Strategy Formulation, Implementation, and Impact (BMGT 805) Quantitative Research Methods (BMGT 810) Advanced Quantitative Analysis (BMGT 825) Sustainability and Responsible Business Strategy (BMGT 835) AI Strategy and Governance (BMGT 840) Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (BMGT 845). Requirements

  • Terminal degree (DBA, PhD) in business, management, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in teaching doctoral level courses in business
  • Extensive experience in doctoral dissertation supervision, including serving as a dissertation chair, committee member, or research mentor.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor students in academic writing, ensuring rigorous application of research methodologies and alignment with scholarly publication standards.
  • Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.
  • Directly relevant, current and active industry professional experience in business or closely related field is preferred.
  • This position is specifically to teach remotely.
  • Must successfully complete UMGC's online two-week new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed and conveys genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning.
  • Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
  • Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.
  • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
  • Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
