About The Position

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site in Naples, Italy for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. UMGC’s MBA curriculum includes several concentration areas such as Cybersecurity Management and Policy, Cybersecurity Technology, Data Analytics, Human Resource Management, Finance, Global Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Project Management, and General Management. The role requires faculty members to be scholar-practitioners, actively engaged in their field and passionate about educating the next generation of professionals. Responsibilities include engaging students, guiding them in applying their learning, providing constructive feedback, demonstrating subject-matter expertise, and offering feedback on curriculum improvements. New faculty must complete an online orientation, FacDev 122, as a condition of hire. The position is available and will remain open until filled. Salary is commensurate with experience. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field aligned with one or more of the concentration areas listed above from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Professional experience in one or more of the listed concentration areas.
  • Applicants must reside locally.
  • Candidates must have and maintain legal authorization to work in the country where they are applying to teach.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching adult learners in online and/or higher education environments strongly preferred.
  • Adjunct faculty positions are not eligible for UMGC-sponsored logistical support.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed, and conveys a genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning.
  • Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
  • Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments.
  • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
  • Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
