The Biological Sciences Department at Wellesley College invites applications for a tenure-track position in vertebrate biology at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2027. We seek to hire a broadly trained vertebrate biologist who is strongly committed to excellence in both teaching and research in an undergraduate liberal arts college environment. The position is open to candidates whose research is at the organismal level and addresses questions of physiology or form and function. A Ph.D. is required at the time of application. Candidates are expected to develop an active and productive research program that involves Wellesley undergraduates. A competitive start-up package will be provided. Candidates will be expected to teach the equivalent of four courses per year within the Biological Sciences curriculum. This will include introductory organismal biology and a course in comparative anatomy and physiology of vertebrates. In addition, the successful candidate will develop and offer an advanced course in their specialty. We welcome candidates with familiarity and/or experience with best practices in inclusive STEM pedagogies to apply.
