About The Position

Emory University School of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology seeks an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology on the Research Track for a 100% non-clinical, research-focused faculty position. The successful candidate will develop and lead an independent, extramurally funded research program. Brain health and/or pain research are strongly preferred, though candidates with independently funded programs relevant to anesthesiology, neuroscience, or perioperative medicine are also encouraged to apply. The position has no clinical duties. Joint or secondary appointments with other Emory departments, centers, or institutes may be explored based on the candidate’s research focus and collaborative interests. The faculty member will develop and sustain a research program, pursue and maintain grant funding, publish original research, collaborate across Emory, mentor trainees and junior faculty, participate in departmental research operations and academic service, and contribute to the department’s translational and clinical-trials infrastructure. The position is required to be performed in person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
