About The Position

The Accounting and Law Academic Area in the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking an Assistant Professor of Accounting with appointment beginning approximately August 12, 2027. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank is anticipated; the anticipated hiring range is $142,000 to $156,000 per year.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching
Ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings
Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language
Doctorate or equivalent degree in accounting from an AACSB or equivalent institution. The Ph.D. should be awarded by the time of appointment in Fall 2027.
Demonstrated record of high-quality research published in peer-reviewed journals or clear evidence of the potential to establish such a record.
Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
