The Department of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Chicago is hiring full-time, tenure-track faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor to work in ecology. The University offers opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration and participation as graduate student trainers. Competitive research space and start-up funding will be available, and new faculty will work with colleagues and graduate students across University programs and at its National Lab affiliates, Argonne National Laboratory and Fermilab. The Department manages campus greenhouse facilities and the Warren Woods Ecological Field Station in Three Oaks, Michigan. The University especially encourages applications from researchers who address fundamental questions in ecology using field research and/or computational, mathematical, and statistical models that interrogate empirical data. Compensation depends on qualifications. These positions are benefits eligible. Qualified applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent before employment begins. Applicants must submit a cover letter, CV with bibliography, research statement, teaching statement, and contact information for three references through the University of Chicago Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio. Applications received by October 1, 2026, are guaranteed full consideration; applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
