Assistant Professor to serve as a member of the Division of Hematology within the Department of Internal Medicine; embarks on a program of research in the specialty of hematology; obtains external research funding; supervises lab staff; participates in the academic commitments of the division and department. The Division of Hematology consists of 71 physicians, physician scientists, and research faculty and has a strong history of career development in laboratory, translational, and clinical research. Our faculty are supported through structured mentorship with a focus on personal career advancement. Clinical researchers develop a broad portfolio of investigator initiated and industry supported trials. The OSUCCC-James is one of only 56 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, a designation that we have maintained through competitive renewal since 1976. The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute opened the third largest cancer hospital in the United States in 2014 to meet the needs of our community, and an outpatient care center in 2023 featuring clinic and infusion space for hematology physicians. The James provides a state of the art facility that fosters integration of research and clinical cancer care, including 308 inpatient beds and a 36 bed blood and marrow transplant (BMT) unit.
