About The Position

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) is seeking outstanding applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Finance (Tenure-Track). This role is within the Department of Finance at an R2 institution committed to inclusive excellence and social justice. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field, conferred no later than the position start date of August 15, 2027.
  • Demonstrate disciplinary excellence.
  • Demonstrate clear capacity to advance LMU’s mission through teaching, scholarly, creative, professional, and service-related contributions.
  • Research and teaching interests in all areas of finance.
  • Interest and potential to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research and teaching.
  • Commitment to the mission of the College of Business Administration.
  • Commitment to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education and Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Ability to address commitment to past and/or potential contributions to advancing LMU’s mission and promoting the success, sense of belonging, and thriving of students from a variety of lived experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining an active program of scholarship.
  • Teaching (typical class size ranges from 20 to 30 students).
  • Advising undergraduate and/or graduate students.
  • Mentoring students.
  • Contributing to department, college, and university service.
  • Developing a thriving portfolio in research/scholarship/creative works and mentoring students.
  • Participating in service activities at the academic, professional, and/or community levels.
  • Working towards greater equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessibility for all in the profession.
