About The Position

This is a clinical faculty position within the College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science. Clinical faculty are not on the tenure track and are on a fixed-term contract. These faculty are teacher/practitioners engaged primarily in teaching activities and typically hold a doctorate or terminal degree in their field or equivalent experience. The role involves teaching required and elective pharmacy courses, engaging in service with The Ohio State University Extension, leading and collaborating on projects to improve health and well-being, and working to enhance connectivity between OSU Extension Educators and community-based pharmacies. The position also contributes to initiatives of the Ohio Pharmacists Association focused on public health and pharmacy practice advancement, and conducts scholarship related to community-engaged practice, teaching and learning, and pharmacy practice metrics.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD)
  • 12 months of experience facilitating public health and community pharmacy collaboration.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching required and elective pharmacy courses within the Doctor of Pharmacy and Bachelors of Pharmaceutical Sciences programs as instructor and preceptor.
  • Service with The Ohio State University Extension.
  • Leading and serving as collaborator on projects to achieve goals that align with improving the health and well-being of citizens of the state of Ohio.
  • Project planning and implementation.
  • Work to improve connectivity between OSU Extension Educators in counties across the state and in community-based pharmacies and pharmacists.
  • Contribute to initiatives of the Ohio Pharmacists Association that promote and facilitate the advancement of pharmacy practice and pharmacists as providers of care with a focus in public health initiatives and connectivity.
  • Scholarship focused on disseminating outcomes related to community engaged practice and teaching and learning as well as improvement in metrics related to pharmacy practice advancement.
