Summary: Colorado Mesa University is seeking a qualified graduate-prepared registered nurse for a non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor/Assistant Teaching Professor to primarily teach in the online RN-BSN program. This position includes the role of the Program Coordinator of the RN-BSN program. Must reside or be willing to relocate to the Grand Valley for regular physical presence on either or both campuses (Grand Junction & Montrose, Colorado). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. The standard teaching load is 12 course credit hours per semester or 24 credits over an academic year. Release time granted for program coordination efforts. Creates and maintains teaching schedules for all RN-BSN faculty. Maintains up-to-date student course progression to ensure timely matriculation through the program. Ability to read, understand, interpret, and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations. Participates in and maintain records for program evaluation to promote academic excellence and ensure accreditation requirements are met. Teaches RN-BSN students in a variety of courses. Additional teaching may include teaching across various programs (PN, AAS, LPN-BSN, BSNt, MSN, DNP) as needed and available. Facilitates rigorous student learning while promoting excellence within the online classroom and clinical practice setting. Participates in academic advising and is sensitive to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Promotes positive and productive relationships with clinical agencies and preceptors. Attends all program and department faculty meetings. Participates in student recruitment through various advising events online and in person. Depending on academic rank (Assistant Clinical Professor/Assistant Teaching Professor), in accordance with the Professional Personnel Handbook: Participates in scholarship/professional productivity, teaching, community service, and advising. Participates in program, department, and university events including commencement exercises. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to effectively present information to students, colleagues, and clinical partners. Establish, post, and maintain a minimum of five office hours weekly during each academic term of the academic year. Office hours may vary in delivery (i.e., Zoom, Teams, mornings, afternoon, evening hours) for in-person, online, and hybrid courses or based upon the courses taught and student availability to meet.
