Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Master's Degree: Nursing
  • Clinical nursing work experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide education instruction both clinically and didactically.
  • Responds to student requests and emails in a timely and professional manner.
  • Establishes and maintains scheduled office hours.
  • Participates in student related extracurricular activities.
  • Serve as a mentor to students.
  • Utilizes appropriate, varied, active, and creative teaching and assessment methods, to include formative and summative assessments.
  • Completes course summaries and analyzes data to use for course and program improvement.
  • Assist in recruitment of qualified students to the program.
  • Motivate students to learn and encourage creativity in scholarly endeavors.
  • Assist in ongoing development of the Master Evaluation Plan and Strategic Plan for the College.
  • Mentor less experienced faculty.
  • Serve as an academic advisor.
  • Investigation and obtaining certificate in specialty area
  • Provide service to the College through committee membership.
  • Provide service to the community through application of professional expertise.
  • Participate in College committees as assigned, and Chair committees as appointed.
  • Present scholarly information on local, state, national and international level.
  • Participate in grant writing activities as part of a team and submit materials to appropriate funding source(s).
  • Participate in research activities and include students in research activities.
  • Participate in professional organizations and hold office in organization.
  • Participate on a national level in professional organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
