We are currently seeking an Assistant Production Manager - in the Blending and Weigh out area to join the Wautoma, WI team. The Assistant Blending/Weigh out Manager has the responsibility for directing shift personnel in the operation of the facility, ensuring inventory is accurate and performing needed audits, the raw materials match the formula requirements, materials are properly blended according to specification, and all customer volume and quality requirements are met.

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years’ previous management experience, preferably in a food grade packaging facility.
  • Excellent leadership, problem solving and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal direction.
  • Must be a self-motivated and results-oriented leader who has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all blending/weigh out personnel in functional areas constantly raising the standard of performance.
  • Establish and enhance education and development programs for employees within the departments including SOP’s, quality specifications, safety, and job expectations.
  • Responsible for annual continuous improvement initiatives in the blending and weigh out departments to increase throughput per labor hour.
  • Coordinate activities within the blending, weigh out, and other departments to ensure production meets all defined scheduling goals and quality requirements.
  • Validate raw material during receiving to ensure correct materials have been received for the formula.
  • Ensure all material specified for a work order is accurately weighed, validated, and recorded on the proper forms.
  • Ensure all paperwork within the departments meet regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and enforce safety and regulatory programs to ensure long term safe operation of the facility.
  • Responsible for communicating and achieving performance goals and KPI’s of the blending and weigh out teams.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and timely completion of all shift reports including Inventory levels as the plants KPI matrix.
  • Coordinate all record keeping with the Plant Manager such as production, quality assurance, inventory control, production planning and administrative personnel.
  • Responsible for blending/weigh out reporting. This includes Red Zone.
  • Responsible for ensuring escalation procedure is followed on night shifts and issues are accurately documented and corrected.
  • Team-up with Plant Manager with the continual evaluation of blending/weigh out and efficiency records to improve equipment capabilities and outputs.
  • Help develop the weekly and/or monthly blending/weigh out labor schedule and employee staffing in accordance with business needs.
  • Maintain and improve all plant housekeeping programs.
  • Responsible for always keeping the blending/weigh out/warehouse areas clean and orderly.
  • Coordinate and schedule equipment repairs (using Maintain X) with the Maintenance department as necessary and coordinate preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, state and federal safety and regulatory policies and practices.
  • Assist with period-end and year-end balancing of inventories.
