The Assistant Produce Manager is responsible for promoting excellent customer relations, focusing on continuous improvement, and assisting the Produce Manager in day-to-day functions. This role involves taking customer orders, ensuring fresh quality merchandise, controlling damages, and developing merchandising plans. The Assistant Produce Manager also oversees department inventories, assists with scheduling and training associates, manages inventory levels, and maintains backroom organization. They are responsible for ensuring product availability, verifying deliveries, enforcing department practices, monitoring product quality, controlling department expenses, and ensuring associates follow company recipes and policies. This role also includes general sanitation, cooperating with co-workers, and utilizing provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The Assistant Produce Manager may also be called upon to assist in other departments and may oversee the Floral department in select stores.
