The Assistant Principal will work collaboratively with diverse students, staff, families, and communities to prepare learners for the 21st century. This role involves participating in the development and evaluation of educational programs, encouraging innovative instructional programs, and promoting the use of technology in the teaching and learning process. The Assistant Principal will foster a positive and caring climate for learning, communicate effectively with students and staff, and participate in the development of campus improvement plans. They will also assist the principal in managing information systems for tracking progress on performance objectives and academic excellence indicators, and deal sensitively and fairly with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. This position requires observing and evaluating employee performance using the Cypress-Fairbanks Teacher Evaluation and Support System (CF-TESS), assisting with staff selection and orientation, and supervising school operations in the principal's absence. The role includes planning daily school activities, supervising student attendance, managing budget requests, requisitioning supplies, and assisting with safety procedures. Additionally, the Assistant Principal will coordinate support services, ensure compliance with laws and policies, supervise student discipline, conduct conferences with parents and students, and participate in professional development. They will also articulate the school's mission to the community and encourage parent involvement, sharing supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the principal.
