About The Position

Our 2nd Pressperson will be responsible for assisting lead operators in the press room. This role will assist other operators with make readies, press equipment operations, and perform quality control functions. The work environment for this position requires regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur. There will be exposure to loud noise, dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles. The physical requirements include the ability to lift, twist and carry up to 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing a pallet jack. This role requires walking throughout the warehouse, standing when operating equipment, and sitting only when driving sit-down material handling equipment. Stooping and kneeling are performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.

• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Second Press Operator.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and vacations as needed.
• Must be available to fill in for others when on vacation.
• Ability to lift, twist and carry up to 50 - 75 pounds, manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds utilizing pallet jack.
• Walking/Standing - walk throughout the warehouse to complete customer orders. Stand when operating order picker or reach truck equipment and when operating cutter.
• Sitting - sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment.
• Lifting - lift items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance .
• Stooping - performed when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations. May bend at the waist.
• Kneeling - kneel when filling orders or putting away products assigned to floor level locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pressperson with press make ready and operate press based upon written instructions provided.
• Follow SOP's, be able to read and understand job tickets for stock and color specifications, and verify that stock and ink match job specs on ticket.
• Perform folder set ups and maintain press register and color.
• Perform quality pull sheet procedures, pull samples, and ensure each job is produced to customer specifications, meeting internal and external deadlines.
• Follow all safety policies and regulations.
• Assist in performing routine maintenance on the press with the press team members as required.
