Assistant Preschool Teacher
About The Position
ABCD is seeking a caring, dependable Teaching Assistant to support classrooms serving infants and toddlers. The role helps provide a safe, loving environment where young children can grow and thrive. The assistant supports the Lead Teacher with care, routines, classroom upkeep, developmental observation, regulatory compliance, and communication with teachers and families. Requirements
- Caring, dependable, nurturing, patient, and passionate about early childhood development.
- Preferred: Associate degree in Early Childhood or Child Development.
- Accepted qualifications include a current CDA; or experience working with infants and toddlers accompanied by coursework or training with infant/toddler content; or a degree in a related field; or training with infant and toddler content.
- Experience working with infants and/or toddlers is preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Ability to lift, carry, and care for young children.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in Early Childhood or Child Development.
- Experience working with infants and/or toddlers.
- Experience in human services, education, healthcare, administration, or community-based work; transferable skills are also valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in caring for infants and toddlers.
- Support daily routines, including feeding, diapering, napping, and playtime.
- Help create a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.
- Observe and support children’s developmental milestones.
- Follow health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Communicate positively with teachers and families.
