About The Position

The Assistant Pharmacy Manager helps create an outstanding customer experience by embracing the Customer 1st strategy. The role is responsible for achieving department sales and profit goals, meeting quality assurance standards, controlling expenses, and scheduling and staffing technicians according to business needs. The Assistant Pharmacy Manager monitors department functions and activities and is responsible for customer service, operational workflow, technician supervision, and patient consultation. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing.
Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

Fulfill customers’ prescription needs while maintaining accuracy for every prescription filled, and provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care as needed.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including HIPAA, governing the pharmacy department.
Maintain a professional image through appearance, conduct, attitude, and the physical condition of the pharmacy; adhere to pharmacy standards and enforce company dress standards.
Develop thorough knowledge of the trade area, customers, and competition.
Promote a service-oriented, friendly, and cooperative Pharmacy department image with customers, company employees, and outside vendors.
Monitor stock replenishment, inventory, policies and procedures, record keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, equipment operation, pricing, planograms, returns, budgets, reports to management, and product recalls according to company policy.
Maintain proper records, inventory, and security for scheduled drugs, including controlled substances and narcotics.
Follow procedures for handling pharmacy products from authorized sources, with Peyton identified as the primary source.
Use all accuracy tools appropriately, including the accuracy scanner and 24-Hour Post Dispensing Audit.
Establish and maintain records required for legal compliance, company and accounting policies, and other requested reports.
Keep the work area clean, neat, sanitary, and organized, including counters, shelves, and floors.
Ensure product returns are handled promptly and according to company policy.
Keep computers, printers, the accuracy scanner, and cash register in working condition.
Maintain and organize policy manuals, reference books, state laws, and required equipment, and verify that staff know how to use them.
Maintain required signage, including store hours, counseling and services signs, pharmacists’ photographs and names, and other requested signs.
Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
