About The Position

N & M Transfer, a family-owned transportation company, is responsible for the transportation of millions of pounds of commodities a day throughout our regional area. N&M’s team of skilled truck drivers, forklift operators, mechanics and office employees work together to provide a superior next-day transportation service which positively affects our local economy. The Assistant Payroll Administrator will back up all job duties of the Payroll Administrator. Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm.

Requirements

• Associate degree in accounting.
• Accounting and payroll experience with UKG Pro
• Good typing/keyboarding, calculator and mathematical skills.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter payroll changes, new employee information and terminated employee information.
• Calculate vacation and holiday pay.
• Process paperwork to Clerk of Courts, garnishments, payroll deductions, State and Federal taxes via UKG.
• Compute and enter payroll and deductions weekly.
• Review driver timecards weekly/account for absences.
• Audit all timecards weekly.
• Answer payroll-related questions from employees.
• Audit paysheets daily and data entry. (Primary daily duty)
• Calculate yearly vacation earned.
• Maintain wage information.
• Scan paysheets into system.
• UKG backend support.
• Miscellaneous employee purchase deductions.
• Complete employment verifications.
• Fill out information for U.C. office.
• Work with Human Resources/Safety regarding wage information for Disability Insurance and Workers Compensation.
