About The Position

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking a passionate Assistant Pastry Chef to help create its menu of more than 40 fresh-baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins using whole ingredients. The role is part-time or full-time, requires morning/daytime availability, and begins early. The position involves following recipes, carefully preparing and decorating baked goods, and maintaining food-handling and sanitation standards. Employees receive a free meal during each shift and food and retail discounts. Health benefits are available to full-time employees, and career development paths include restaurant leadership, retail management, and specialization in pastry or bread baking. The role offers an hourly wage plus the opportunity to earn tips.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout a shift, with limited opportunities to sit.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be flexible and able to work early shifts; morning/daytime availability is required.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of large-scale baking or pastry experience, including working quickly to decorate pastries; preferred but not required.
• Formal baking or pastry education.
