About The Position

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is hiring an Assistant Pastry Chef to help prepare a menu of more than 40 fresh-baked pastries, pies, cakes, and muffins made with whole ingredients. The role requires morning/daytime availability, and shifts start early. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

The position involves following recipes, paying close attention to detail, decorating pastries, and working efficiently in a changing kitchen environment. It also requires lifting dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 pounds or more, as well as standing and walking throughout the shift with limited opportunities to sit. Candidates must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Kneaders locations are closed every Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Employees receive a free meal for each shift worked, food and retail discounts, and hourly wages with the opportunity to earn tips. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Morning/daytime availability is required; shifts start early.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of large-scale baking or pastry experience, including working quickly to decorate pastries; this experience is preferred but not required.
• Formal baking or pastry education.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and prepare pastries and other baked goods.
• Decorate pastries quickly and with attention to detail.
• Work flexibly through changes while monitoring baking and kitchen activity.
• Follow applicable local, state, and federal food-handler and sanitation regulations.
• Lift dough, flour, and other supplies weighing 50 pounds or more.
• Stand and walk throughout the shift.
