About The Position

The Department of Radiology in the University of Washington School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding. The position is based at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, Washington, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. The role will primarily serve the pediatric interventional radiology division, with a smaller component in the adult interventional radiology division serving the University of Washington School of Medicine and affiliated healthcare facilities. Appointment and compensation are commensurate with experience and qualifications. Clinical responsibilities include patient care in interventional radiology. Faculty also teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows; contribute to weekly interdepartmental clinical conferences; participate in quality assurance and continuous process improvement; engage in academic and research activities; and carry out assigned administrative duties. All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Teaching and mentoring are important parts of the section’s mission, and faculty participate in multidisciplinary conferences and the education of IR residents, pediatric radiology fellows, and diagnostic radiology residents. The appointee will join the Pediatric and Adult Interventional Radiology sections and a group at Seattle Children’s that includes six full-time pediatric interventional radiologists, eight advanced practice providers, and 30 pediatric diagnostic radiology faculty members. Seattle Children’s is a 407-bed regional medical center, where more than 136,000 pediatric imaging examinations are performed annually across modalities at the hospital and associated outpatient clinics. Pediatric interventional radiologists are encouraged and supported in clinical and basic research. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments aligned with a 12-month service period (July 1–June 30). Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments aligned with the same service period. Faculty on 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over 12 months, making the equivalent of one month available for paid time off. The base salary range is $45,004–$55,868 per month ($540,048–$670,416 annually) at the Assistant Professor rank, or $49,521–$60,424 per month ($594,252–$725,088 annually) at the Associate Professor rank. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. The range includes base salary from both the Children’s University Medical Group practice plan and the University. Only University-provided compensation is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. The position is incentive eligible through the physicians practice plan. Benefit eligibility depends on the employing entity; appointees solely employed and paid directly by a non-UW entity are not eligible for UW or Washington State employee benefits.
