About The Position

Indiana Wesleyan University and the DeVoe Division of Business are seeking applications from qualified individuals for the position of full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Hospitality Management. The position will provide instruction at IWU’s residential campus within the DeVoe Division of Business. Hospitality has been identified as a priority in the university’s strategic plan, with the construction and launch of a new hotel on campus and the development of an associated academic program as projects in support of that priority. The Hospitality Management faculty member will play a key role in the development of coursework for the new major, facilitate launch of the academic program, and work closely with the university owned hotel. The DeVoe Division of Business is a Christ-centered academic community that provides students the opportunity for personal, professional, and spiritual development in preparation for a life of service, applying sound business principles with wisdom and creativity. Requirements

  • Applicants should demonstrate the ability to combine engaging teaching with scholarly endeavors.
  • Ph.D. or Executive Doctorate in hospitality management or related field preferred.
  • Candidates with a master's degree and substantial professional experience in the hospitality industry will be considered.
  • Practical experience in hospitality management.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach curriculum for the Hospitality Management degree program
  • Engage in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate students on the Marion, Indiana residential campus
  • Engage in divisional and university committee work
  • Engage in assessment of academic programs
  • Engage and partner with university owned hotel
  • Develop partnerships and collaborate within the regional hospitality industry
  • Serve as a liaison with admissions and assist with recruiting students into this new academic program
